Dietetic fail

Just an anecdote from the past: when I was still pretty new to Houston, I went to the cafeteria where I work, and I ordered the salad plate.

Which turns out to be a scoop of potato salad, a scoop of tuna salad, a scoop of chicken salad, and a serving of bean salad.

As I was checking out, the cashier looked at my plate, and sympathetically commented:

"Salads only? On a diet?"

  1. That's pretty classic (and why we are the "fattest city", I'm sure). You might have overdosed on mayo that day - ha!

  2. I still don't understand why people put chunks of hard boiled eggs in chicken salad and tuna salad around here.
